  1. Happy Birthday KKlowell!  I hope you have an awesome day!

  2. Good luck, and I hope you have a complete recovery.
  3. I did not know that trick...so thanks for the tip!
  4. 5/8" Cherry
  5. I sure hope so. I am curious how it cracked though...I know it wasn't cracked when she got it, and I know it didn't crack when I was working on it.
  6. This is the piece I made for my wife for our anniversary. I decided that I would do some filing on it tonight, but when I picked it up I noticed that it seemed to be flexing far too easily. Closer inspection revealed this crack that goes all the way across the back of it and almost entirely through. I think I'll try to fix it with some Titebond wood glue tomorrow and hold it in place with some small clamps...and a lot of hoping.
  7. Thanks for the wonderful welcome and the kind words. She did indeed love it!
  8. I'm in Bridgton, north and a little west of Portland.
  9. I've been thinking of building one of these for my deck, but I can only hope that if I do build one it would look as nice as yours. Really looks good!
  10. Man, that tree of life is spectacular. I like the others too, but that tree really stands out.
  11. Looks darn nice to me!
  12. Wow! Both because it's a beautiful piece, and also because it took you only three hours to do. Looks like a whole lot of drilled holes to put a blade through...you must fly cutting those lines!
  13. Very nice! How long did it take? I'm a newbie...what size blade did you use on wood that delicate?
  14. Looks like JC to me...good job.
  15. Wow, that's a busy bench, but it looks like it saves a lot of wall space.
