    Thought I would re-post my pictures. I finally managed to get them oriented correctly. I have to admit that I like wood working in all of it's forms. I have also built several traditional black powder rifles. Scrolling has been a passion for the last couple years.

    the dulcimers are handmade. After building one from a kit I decided to try it on my own. Re-sawed all the wood and built the forms to bend it with. Haven't sold any of them yet. Gave a couple to my kids. I have wood prepped for several more but got sidetracked with scrolling. Phil

    After scrolling with the switch on the saw I went to HF and got a footswitch. I like the push on push off type. I made a platform on the saw base since the stool I use is a tall one. Works very well for me. Phil

    I guess I'll be the next one to show my mess. I have about 700 sq/ft of our basement for a shop. Should have taken some pictures in January when it was a bit more organized.     My new King also seemed really stiff in raising the arm. I was able to loosen the set screw on the side and get it loosened up. I like the saw so far. It wasn't long before i removed the dust collector. Once I did the transition to top feed became easier. Phil

    Wen I first started teaching 1st year electrical students at our state college, I was presenting the material as if the students already had some experience. I will never forget what my Coordinator told me. "You need to remember that the students don't know anything about the subject. You have done this kind of work so long that you have forgotten that you didn't know it at one time." Something we all need to remember when someone new starts asking questions.     The dulcimers were a big reason I bought the first saw. I was looking for a good way to cut the sound holes. They can be pretty elaborate. I haven't tried to sell any of them yet, still perfecting the process. I went thru the re- sawing of the wood for the tops, bottoms. Used an electric bending iron to bend the sides. Getting an acceptable finish on them has been the biggest hurdle. Building is pretty straight forward wood working.

    New King and old Craftsman. Started on a Fretwork box for my wife. Saw cuts amazingly well compared to the old one. Phil

    Neglected to say that I also removed the dust collector .It may be pretty effective but I found it to be a nuisance when top feeding. The design of it looks like it would work. I may put a 1/4" MDF top on the table to get a zero clearance hole and end up plugging all the dust holes off anyway. Phil

    My wife surprised me with a new 16" King saw for Christmas. After using it some since Christmas I am very impressed. My previous saw was an old Craftsman 20" Professional. The difference is amazing. Very little vibration and the noise level is very low. I had done some fretwork clocks and a couple chess sets on the old saw that would have turned out much better on the King. First thing I removed were the top and bottom blade guards. Really enjoy being able to top feed. I was able to center the blade hole up after taking it off to remove the bottom blade guard.

    I would be interested in your source for the corian. Looks like an interesting material to cut. I would have never thought about it. Trivets come to mind. Thank,Phil
