  1. I know. Just have to cover my bases unfortunately. I posted it in a group on FB and it got all kinds of flack from snowflakes that saw a black gun cutout and immediately got “TRIGGERED” .
  2. I used a spiral because my saw is only 16 inches and the piece was 32 inches long. Thank you. Believe me, there was a lot of sanding.
  3. I had wanted to do my dad something that would work in his gun room. Well, this idea came to me by a member of a Facebook page I’m part of. It was cut on a 16 inch WEN using #5 Pegas spiral blades. I had never used spirals before and this was a learning curve. Took it slow and I was happy with the outcome even though I sanded a good bit afterwards. I wound up breaking 3 blades as well I’m this cutting process. I painted it with a flat black enamel spray paint. I used the LED strip from the automotive section at Walmart since they were extremely bright and I hardwired them to a 12V wall plug I had laying around.
  4. Cut for a coworkers wife that he surprised.
  5. A project finished for my mom. She loves hummingbirds and I finally found a Steve good pattern for hummingbirds. 112 holes later all on a WEN scrollsaw with the pinless allen head adapter. Distressed the backing wood to look like old and glued them together. I used 1/4” birch plywood for the pattern and 1/2” craft board from Lowe’s for the backing wood.
  6. I did my very first piece using cutout letters this past week. I made this for my wife. The letters were 3/4” thick pine as well as the frame. Took me longer than I wanted, but it was my first time doing letters. I used 1/4” birch ply for the back and stained it with the Minwax Dark Walnut. Torched the frame only and added 2 coats of Zinnsser Shellac.
  7. No problem. The Pegas MG blades are so good. I used a #3 & #5 on the pattern.
  8. The backlighting was actually a strand of the “fairy LED lights”. I got a 10 pk from amazon for cheap. I drilled holes in the backing board and basically just weaves them in and out of the holes.
  9. I made my son this pattern from 1/4” birch plywood. I even made my first frame ever for it. Then decided to backlight it. The frame gave me a fit at first but it worked out in the end.
  10. I found it through google search. I added my own flair to it to as well.
  11. I’m currently at this crossroad. Im doing a surprise gift for my brother, which is a pastor, and an avid duck hunter. I have the main portion cut and glued together. However, the middle piece with the scripture, I’m at a hold up on it. Should I torch it and then sand it to make it a darker color and add contrast since it was the middle piece? The base is 3/4” pine, same as the main cut. I finished the main cut with a clear shellac and the bottom base will be the same. I also am going to countersink 3 ends of shotgun shells into the base also. The second photo is of the color im thinking for the middle of I torch it and sand it.
  12. Does anyone here have any fishing lure patterns for use? Not to fish with, just as a decor item. Been freehanding some and trying my hand at compound cutting.
  13. I had a bit of inspiration while reading a BASS magazine. Went to my scroll saw and drew out a pattern on a scrap piece of wood, cut it out. A lot of sanding was involved to get the shape somewhat ok. A rough prototype that I’m going to stay working on. Fishing is my passion and these would be nice little trinket gifts.
  14. Cut this one as my first of 2019. Hoping this year the fish create tight lines for me and everyone else who loves fishing.
