    Not wax. You color them on, and then go over the area with a wet paint brush and it releases the paint. So it's basically just waterpaint......... but you have more control and can blend colors together easier.

    I recently heard about something called watercolor crayons, and looked at a video talking about them. All the videos showed them being used on paper. I decided to give them a try on a wood project. I cut this out, and used 100% watercolor crayons on it Now I need you to tell me if you like the effect or not. Also, if you like the piece....lol

    It's actually surprised me. It started off rather slow, but I mainly built it because I was tired of people ordering off my website, and it would take me 2 hours going through dozens of totes to find their purchase. But once I started actively promoting it, I had a number of people stopping in off the road to look around. It has paid for the building this summer, so it's all profit going forward. I will never get rich off it due to my location.....I live way out in the sticks, but it supplements my retirement nicely, so I call it a win. Thank you for asking Chuck

    Something I played around with for craft shows. Each symbol includes the actual constellation which makes up that sign, with diamonds representing the main stars, and drilled holes representing the minor stars in the constellation

    Thank you. No. It's all the same wood. I just start with a single piece of 1x12 pine. Then I shape the individual pieces and add quarter inch plywood risers under the parts that need to be raised. The black for the nose and eyes, I use a sharpie marker for. The hair/fur is made by attaching a metal cutting wheel to my Dremel and scoring the wood where I want the fur, as well as which direction. I appreciate your questions

    I make my own colors. I bought a set of artists oil paints. Then I mix them with natural stain in a baby food jar.....I like having flexibility, instead of various shades of brown. Thanks for the compliments.
