  1. Here is a drink coaster I just finished. The pattern I used came from Scroller and I reduced it down to 40%. I did this as a test to see how it would come out. It is about 1/8" thick so I'm thinking if I do this again I will stack about 6(?). Next time I will pour in a small amount of color epoxy and let that set before finishing with all clear epoxy. I think I would also use water color paint to give the coral some color. A little lighter on the shark and it should be pretty good. Happy scrolling all …
  2. For my son (I started late), he will be going into freshman year of college this fall. He will be a psychology major. So I looked up psychology under clipart and that is what came up!
  3. A bit late, but this is a project I have been working on over the weekends during this time. This is the first project I have completed in over 30 years. I learned that I need to work on patience, scrolling requires much patience and I am glad I picked this back up again. I learned can not feed the wood quickly or "force feed" the saw to get done faster. I should have known better than cut the outside first! This was my first try at epoxy resin, I like the idea and may try this in some other projects that I am planning, like drink coasters. Comments and suggestions are definitely welcome. Tom
  4. Man that looks familiar. My dad always had me stand to the side when cutting, never had a problem till a month ago, glad I did not get complacent and remembered his lesson
  5. Thanks, this something different, looks fun. I saw someone mention shading to help figure out the cuts … great idea thanks for that tidbit of info too
  6. Near Hughesville. Waldorf address, but definitely not in Waldorf!
  7. Morning all! My father got me into scroll sawing in the early 70's, he did amazing work up until his passing about 4 years ago. His work was mostly given as gifts his favorite work were baskets. I left for the service (a 23 year career) and am working on a second career. I got my fathers DeWalt scroller, and now searching myself to figure what I would like to do the most of with his scroller. Scroll saw village has been a blessing to find! I am loving all the different ideas out there and all the various projects folks are working on. I eventually want to get enough projects done to take to craft shows. I like the idea of projects with mini clocks or even weather stations (barometer, thermometer, humidity), etc. and to try to tie it in with the state, crabs!, and or a car culture that is around the area. I've babbled enough ….. Good Scrolling everyone! Tom
  8. I love this idea, I can see how the angled top would need careful planning! Thanks for sharing
