  1. Happy Birthday

  2. Really like your Idea of the refrigerator magnets. they look great, love the ideas that folk come up with. saves my brain from over heating trying to think of new things to do Les.
  3. I sometimes use the offcuts from pen blanks to make other pens (twist type pen) the results are good and are popular at the craft markets I sell at, and I do them in four different woods that compliment each other. Les.
  4. Well just to make you guys over there feel a little better, we are cooking down here, 35C and tons of humidity have had to change shirts a couple of times to day, as they were sopping wet (by the way horses sweat, men perspire, and women glow!)
  5. You are never to old to learn....
  6. Really beautiful work, coconut is a new one for me, well done.
  7. What a lovely gift to give, very well done, "Scroll saw Village has talent "

    I'm Not Old

That makes me crispy as well
  9. Roly it must be the Coke, I can't see anything either Les
  10. I feel for you Doc. I did two craft markets over the weekend, the early Saturday morning market was a flop, I spent more money on coffee there then what I made in sales, (coffee may still bankrupt me yet) but did get three orders which I hope to have ready before next weekend, so it was not a total loss. and in the afternoon the wind came up and nearly blew us away at the second market, I did at least cover stall costs there, and then when we were packing up the late afternoon the organizers refunded our stall costs in lew of wind we had to put up with, which was a first for me. Have not made my first million yet but working hard at getting it How does the saying go "Another day another dollar million days millionaire" Les.
  11. Greetings to all my fellow scrollers, I dont know if this idea has come up before in any of the forums, I was busy cutting some 6mm ply and got the idea to cut a good straight line, what I did was clamp a true straight edge to the scroll saw, and using a FD #3 spiral flat end blade and the straight edge a a guide, got a neat result, the blade can be used from all sides just by moving the straight edge to a different angle. hope someone can make use of the idea. Les.
  12. Hi Tim, Welcome from a cold and windy Durban South Africa, Sorry about the Rugby Les.
  13. I use CA glue when I do stack cutting on ply, a tiny drop on each corner between layers clamp for a few seconds and away I go, the glued corners are going to be waste anyway, saves time taping all the layers together. Les.
  14. Great news that you are busy, our summer is on the way, hot and humid is what to expect on our east coast.
  15. Ditto to the above advice, nice first project, you are going to have a lot of fun scrolling, enjoy!
