  1. Well, I have to admit that I've been a bit caught up with work and haven't gotten back here in a while, but I wanted to finally post the finished version of the California Flag for my father. I also want to thank everyone on my first post for all the wonderful comments and the warm welcome to this site! It's all so encouraging! I'll be better about responding! Promise! I hope I added the pictures correctly, but hopefully you can see them. I apologize for the harsh glare on the flag, resin is really difficult to photograph! I have a light box now, so my pictures should improve in the future! There's also one of the butterfly I'm currently painting as I'm sitting here. @Scrollcrazy cut it out for me! She's the best! There's two roses I'm working on in the photo as well. I've done a few other things since finishing the flag so I'll get better at posting more. Wood burning is certainly going to be a lifelong love for me! So I hope you all enjoy the ride with me!
  2. Hello everyone! For my first post here I thought I would share my current work in progress. This is a gift for my father. I'm hoping to get it done soon so I can pour it with epoxy resin. But there is more detailing to do, so in the meantime I'll be whittling away at the border. It's an 8x12" maple board
  3. Too much every day "stuff" has been keeping me busy .... 2 more months and then my time on the city council comes to an end. After 4 terms (16 years) I decided not to run again.... more time for important pastimes.... I have 9 or 10 clocks cut but they have to be sanded, stained and assembled... this includes the top 2 floors of the Wilckins Tower of Time Clock. Weather is improving so I can open the overhead door in the shop and sand with a fan behind me blowing all the sawdust out. I have also been working on perfecting my wood burning... three of my latest attempts shown Dave now The Pyro-Troll and The Scroll Troll
