  1. Hi All, Scroll saw newbie here trying to troubleshoot a problem! I have a new King Canada 16” Variable Speed Scroll Saw, Model No. KC-163SSC-V-6. I went to change the blade in my saw for the first time and after releasing the blade, I found the Blade Tension Knob completely stuck. Now I can’t seem to tighten/lock the blade itself at the bottom, no matter how much I tighten it in with the key it springs loose when I turn the saw on. I’m assuming these two things are related but I don’t know enough to be completely sure! The saw seems to “work” in all other respects, it runs smoothly. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Hoping the solution isn’t just “buy another saw” because I can’t at the moment! Thanks, Alexander
  2. Hello, I am fairly new to scroll sawing and I am currently working with an 18" Porter Cable variable speed scroll saw that is being lended to me. I've used it for probably 6 hours or so, but today I went to use it and I was struggling to get my tension correct with a plain end blade and something broke. Whenever I try to run the machine, the tension instantly releases. This has broken two blades, and no matter what I do I cannot tighten or loosen the tension and get it to hold when I run the blade. I am not sure if I broke it by applying too much tension earlier on, or how to fix it because I do not know exactly what is wrong. I am waiting for a response from Porter Cable, but in the meantime are there any suggestions or does anyone know what I did wrong/what piece I broke? Everything looks like it is not broken, but I do not completely understand the mechanics behind the tension of a scroll saw.
  3. Just bought my first scroll saw in an estate sale it's a hawk 226vs the tension on the back is strange and when I saw the videos online describing this model it looked slight different when I try to tighten it is still very loose. The picture of the piece I'm holding falls down when I let go and I've tried to tighten it I'm not quite sure what I'm doing haha thank you.
  4. Purchased a supposedly nearly-new Dewalt 788 within the past year. We haven’t used it much at all yet. Noticing that the motor is bogging down when blade tension is increased. What do I need to know to overcome this motor bog down issue?
