I'm glad it worked for you! I use this technique all of the time, especially the gray pattern with black outline. But the great thing about this is you can customize your printed pattern to the way you like to cut. The next video I'll cover printing large patterns like 11x14" or large intarsia patterns. I'm going to try to record the episode this week (usually I do it on Sunday, but family stuff got in the way).

I know it is something that I am doing wrong but...all was going as you said it would till I got to the part of changing the pattern to grey with a black border ...are some patterns color locked?..I copied the pattern and resized it fine...I have tried a couple of different patterns and keep geting stuck at the changing color part...all advice greatly appreciated.

Did you use the Trace Bitmap option (Path>Trace Bitmap)? You'll need to convert it to a vector file first. Then you can change the color.

You'll laugh... ...I deleted the wrong one once I had copied it.... Worked fine this time...Thanks for getting back to me Travis and thanks for putting the tutorial together.

even whit the language chance it work fine

I am using Inkscape and have participated on 2 web sights, taking classes on both. Between the two I am starting to make some progress. I am a slow learner but it is slowly coming together for me too.

Right now, YouTube is the only place I have them.  I don't think I'm going to put them anywhere else.  It's too hard to manage that many videos, so I like to have them all in one place.
