Travis Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 I had the opportunity to meet heppnerguy for lunch! Dick was the first person from SSV I've met face to face. It was a lot of fun talking shop with a fellow scroller. He was nice enough to bring me a bunch of alder. I grabbed as many boards as I could carry on my commuter train. It was great to meet you, Dick. Thanks for the Alder! I'm looking forward to cutting it. Not sure what, though. Hrmmmm...wheels are spinning. Quote
LarryEA Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 Travis, How about a few details. Like how did you arrange the meeting. You were in Heppner or he was in SSV. Quote
Scrappile Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Well golly Travis, I was in Vancouver this weekend at the Farmers Market. I was visiting my daughter in Portland and we try to make the Vancouver farmers Market when we can. I love Vancouver. Maybe we can connect sometime. Travis 1 Quote

Travis Posted August 27, 2014 Author Report Posted August 27, 2014 I know! I meant to take a picture and have been kicking my self since. Dick was in Portland visiting family, He met me at Deschutes Pub in downtown Portland for lunch, which is really close to my office. Burgers were good and it was fun talking shop. There seems to be a fair number of people near the Portland area. Perhaps we should organize a meet up. Something informal, perhaps at a park or something. A little show & tell, talking shop, maybe throw something on a grill. That would be a lot of fun. Quote
