I just can't let a fellow Canuck fan down, I believe there was a plan in Wood magazine a long time ago just search their index Also if you have a vice it would be simple enough to make up a set of clamps to hold the handle would it not? Go Canucks go

Hi Larry. Your site, page 1, second row, first image - that's the idea but that jig almost looks store bought. I contracted to a carpenter a few years ago that had a pretty nifty jig, looks like I'll have to give him a call. Bendita - the handle doesn't really lend itself to sitting securely in a vise. Thank you guys. Cheers, Barry. (Go Canucks!)

Seems like you want a jig for a belt sander so it becomes hands-free. OH... Now I got it.

Basically, you want your belt sander to become a 'bench' sander.

No idea, gotta do more searches.

Years ago I made one out of plywood. I basically made a cardboard template for each side of the sander beside the handle. Think --lying upside down in a box; and you get the idea!

The belt sticking above the box and a few holding plates added to the box. ---Think like maze pieces that just fit the right places! Make a cardboard one to test the fit with! When it fits perfect carefully make a wooden one.

I made it out of heavy scrap plywood. I think I used butterfly nuts and just wrench tightened bolts as set screws! This is 35 or so years ago, so memory is a little fuzzy. It worked well enough to wear out the sander.

Hope this helps. If you decide to do this; I will appreciate pictures, Thanks.
