Lots of people stay away from MDF because it's not wood and you automatically think cheep. The truth of the matter is it's great for bending and it accepts paint better than plywood. the only draw back is moisture. Here are some pictures of a hall table I made from all 3/4" MDF. It was all drawn with sketchup first to get all the angles. The scalloped face was made on the Legacy mill, misted with water to allow it to bend. It was all painted with a pre cat lacquer.  Next time you need to make an indoor project that gets painted, don't overlook MDF.

I'll have to agree with him,Mdf wood works really well in the shop, I made my kitchen cubboards with it and sprayed them with a white plastic paint. They turned out just like they came from a mill. Very dustyaterial without a dust collector system Kevin is right there but a good machining wood and doesn't chip out. That's my story and Im sticking to it lol. Damian

Thank you Kevin. The dust is very bad and it makes the floor very slippery to. It also dulls bit's and blades. It also looks better than ply in some applications.

Around the corner There is a plywood with a combination of both. We use it when we make bar tops. It's called calibrated plywood. It's made up with your regular plywood core then it has a 1/8"  layer of MDF on each side then the wood veneer. It is the exact same thickness from one end of the sheet to the other and it is very flat. Thats the type of plywood we used on the bar top pictures I posted. It dose cost more but, comes out better with less work.

Thank you Oldhudson.

Thank you spirithorse.
