Here's my newest project. It's 18"tall by 14"wide. Made for my cousins husband who is a Falconer and has a Redtail Hawk as a pet.

I used Peruvian Walnut for all the dark colors (body,eye,talons,tail stripe) , Indiana Walnut for (Head and part of tail), Aspen for (tail tips), Yellow Pine for (feet), Spalted Maple for (Branch and face/beak), Clear maple for  Underbody(light color). 

A Kathy Wise pattern...

Man ,this one would scare the life out of me seeing it in your house at full size.I bet a  real one wouldn't  know the difference either till up close.Remarkable colors and contouring you've done here.You young guys can do  it all and do it real well.Definitely museum quality !

A beautiful piece of work Michael. That superb bird looks like it's just about to take off. Lovely.
