gator Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 went to a friends house for a few days and his family has been on this plot 7 miles by 7 miles from a original Spanish land grant. he says this all the time so i will repeat it, his family was really bad poker players and really good drunker s. hes down to 5 acres. any way this is a big live oak look up at the red arrows the tree branch splits 20 feet up and then grew back together. these oaks are huge. found it interesting wanted to share Quote

Doug Posted April 1, 2015 Report Posted April 1, 2015 The diminishing size of the land grant reminds me of the Nebraska rancher and Texas rancher talking about the size of their ranches. The Nebraska rancher said he could ride his horse all day and not get from one end of his property to the other end of his property. The Texas rancher responds that he can get in his pickup and drive all day and not get from one end of his property to the other end of his property. The Nebraska rancher responds, I know what you mean, I used to have a pickup like that. Quote
