Savannah Scroller Posted March 30, 2015 Report Posted March 30, 2015 Last Sat I was in my first craft sale. Well it was to me disappointing. I only sold 2 small pieces and I really gave them away! NO ONE wanted to pay what the pieces were worth. They all said they were pretty and great work but did not have any need for them or different reasons. The one that I loved the most was " I will be back later" and of course they never came back. BUT I WILL KEEP ON SCROLLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
courdorygirl Posted March 30, 2015 Report Posted March 30, 2015 Yea, craft sales can be like that. My mom and I are pretty picky about them because all you get at craft sales are other crafters. Lots of "that's really nice" and "I'll be back later"s. We have started going to conventions instead. They are more spread out during the year, and a bit more pricey (sometimes, sometimes not), but we make considerably more money. The market is different though, and we have to make sure to have items that will appeal to the con attendees (superhero items, TV and movie fandoms, etc). Quote

LarryEA Posted March 30, 2015 Report Posted March 30, 2015 I think the holiday craft fairs at schools are worth considering. You have Christmas and Hanukah coming up. I'd like to do a few of them just to see if they are worth it. Quote
Jim Finn Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 I have been selling for about seven years now. Last year was my best sales year. I went to a local farmers market every Saturday and did very well there. Quote
