  1. I get my wood from Paxton Woods in the Cincinnati ares at about 1/2 of what I would pat at Loews or HD. The only difference the the thickness is 7/8 not 3/4 and the edges are not finished and either one makes any difference in puzzles, I do have to drive 15 miles to get it IKE
  2. I use spray can liquor I have a hand sprayer that fits over the can has a Triger that Persis down on the can button. it works great. it's made by Rustj-olumand cost about $6 at Home depot. I was surprised how much was left in the can before I bought this. Now I use all that is in the can I get about 5 to 6 more dogs per can using 2 coats. at $6 it's worth a try. IKE
  3. I have tried them several times but they leave rough finish and are harder for me to control so I just gave up and use nothing but flat blades they hjave done me for the last 50 year's so why learn anything new at the age of 82. IKE
  4. one good looking car and the same goes for the art work IKE
  5. I spray the wood with a light coat of glue let it get sticky , it takes about 30 sec. when the cutting is done I dampen the rag with mineral spirits , wipe it on the paper and the pattern almost falls off. wipe the board with the same moistened rag . no problems I have been using this method for the past year and have had no problem. It's faster than the above methods and cheaper. A gallon last about a year . IKE
  6. we live ina mobil home have a small 8 X 10 shed as my shop large fan no air or heat I useallly scroll about 10 month per year but with the heat we rare having now ia don't do much, at 82 i can't take that 90 degree heat, so I am on the computer looking for patterns and playing solitaire. IKE

Thanks. And yes it has. Are you doing any craft shows this year? I'll plan to stop in for a visit.

  8. looks good to me Nice work ckean edges.
  9. I use it to remove patterns and cleaning up in the shop. It takes so little to remove the patterns . It doesn't take any time at all all advance is gone after a hour of drying a gallon last about 18 months, but every time I buy it the price has gone up. IKE
  10. It would probably make a good starter machine. IKE
  11. Welcome from a fellow Ohioan
  12. The kids i know like puzzles of there pets. Dogs are very popular. you can get the puzzles patterns from Scott. The main thing in stand up puzzles is that your saw table is square with the blade. Get a piece of 3/4 wood and make a puzzle piece and see if it comes out right that the piece is inserted in both directions IKE
  13. I use Rapid Rizer a lot . It is simple easy and gets me any size I want I don't make patterns off it. IKE
  14. I spray the wood with a light coat of spray glue of your choice and very seldom I have any problems with the pattern coming off. when the project is cut i take a rag dampened with mineral spirits and wipe the pattern and the pattern usually almost falls off I then use the same rag and wipe down the wood. i do a lot of fretwork and getting the pattern off is a big problem when i apply the glue to the pattern. I let the project dry for a couple of hours and you can't see where you has any glue on it.. doing fine fretwork the painters tape is a real pain to remove. I have found that this method is a lot more economical and quicker I know in some states mineral spirits are outlawed because of cancer. I don't worry about it at 82 I am playing on the back 9. IKE
  15. I know how it herts. about15 years ago i got into a fight with mt table saw and the saw herts It took off 1/2 my left thumb It never did come out sright they couln't save the thumb so Iguess the table saw waon that one. It sure makes you more carful with a table saw they don't forgive mistakes. hope yours comes out better than mine. IKE
