sawdust1 Posted April 5, 2015 Report Posted April 5, 2015 After looking in sites for info, I found out I have to clear my Inkscape preferences.xml. To do this is says to go to c drive. I don't know how to go to c drive and look for Inkscape preferences. I'm using windows 7 and firefox. It says go to C:%userprofile% etc. I understand you have to clear your preferences to solve fault problems and when you restart it will reset your preferences. Uninstall and install does not solve problem. Thanks for any help. Bob Quote
Travis Posted April 5, 2015 Report Posted April 5, 2015 This is where mine is located: C:\Users\Travis\AppData\Roaming\inkscape\preferences.xml Instead of deleting it, I'd rename it to "bak" That way if something goes wrong, you can change the name back and it will restore what you had previously. sawdust1 Posted April 5, 2015 Author Report Posted April 5, 2015 Where do you type in the above Quote
amazingkevin Posted April 5, 2015 Report Posted April 5, 2015 I would guess it's the box above the start button Quote
courdorygirl Posted April 6, 2015 Report Posted April 6, 2015 On Windows 7, click the Start button, then you can either type in C:// into the search bar to open the containing folder. Or from the desktop, if you have a My Computer or This PC (Mine says This PC but I have Windows 8) icon, double click it. It will open Windows File Explorer. Under Devices and Drives, Click on the C:// Drive. Then click on Program Files. Then right click on Inkscape's program file, and then rename it as Travis suggested. Should solve your problem. bobscroll 1 Quote
