I live in the S.E. part of Washington (State).  Washington is known as the "Ever Green State" and it pretty much is except in the area I live in.  Here it is arid, mostly sheep grass and sagebrush.  Many probably would not like it, I love it here.  Anyway, what use to be open desert land is now mostly farm, and huge vineyards.   All around me now (I live out in the country) is now grapes for wine.  That's okay, better that than houses.  However, there is a cost.  For example, my little cactus garden.  All my cactus I went and dug up and transplanted it when I saw all the development coming.  It is pretty much all gone now in it's wild state.  This is my little wild cactus garden.  The blooms are absolutely beautiful.  Each bloom only lasts about a day.  Just thought I share the beauty.  Please enjoy.

I also like cactus flowers! Although the prairie cactuses of ND were smaller than yours and not quite as ATTITUDED!

They were still very pretty when they bloomed. The rare cactus berries were also tasty when I found one before the birds did!

Thank You for the "save" and the pictures.

I remember.when I was  a kid( in the 50's0 we took a trip out to the Grand Canyon and My mother picked up some castis and planted them when we got home I had to mow around it and I thought if I mowed over them they would die and i wouldn't have any mowing problem any more, Wrong again each part sprouted and we had a big caustic garden. You didn't dare go barefooted in our front yard. I havent cared for them ever since Yours  are beautiful and mine was a pain.

I love cactus flowers.  A neighbour 2 door up has a 6 foot tall cactus and once a year it flowers, I have been lucky twice to see them, large trumpet looking flowers, awesome.  Thank you for showing us yours, oh and by the way you have a very tall black flower growing in front of them, you may need to remove it, it's putting the smaller flowers in the shade.
