Travis Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Well, it took a little longer than I'd hoped, but I finally got the entire Inkscape class on DVD. You can still download and participate in the class for free in the Village University forum. This is the EXACT same series available for free. No additional material is included. So why offer it on DVD? Some folks have trouble downloading video because of dial-up issues or slower computers. Others prefer learning in the comfort of their own living room. Either way, you can now get a copy of the class on disk. This 3 disk set includes 2 DVD's which have all of the video instruction and 1 CD which has all the written instructions and illustrations. The written instructions are in PDF format for easy printing. This is nearly 3.5 hours if instruction! All for a low low price of $12 which includes shipping! If you'd also like to get the GIMP class on DVD, I've created a package deal where you can get the Inkscape Class and the GIMP class on DVD for only $25! Both DVD sets has 8.5 hours of pattern making goodness plus written instructions! Ordering this combo set will save you $2 off the regular price. You can find both DVD sets here. Note: This offer is good for US Residents. Outside of the US, please contact me for more information. This is presented in region free, NTSC and on DVD-R format. Some older DVD players may not play DVD-R formatted disks. Quote
Travis Posted October 15, 2009 Author Report Posted October 15, 2009 I had somebody on dialup ask if I can send them the program on CD since it was difficult for them to download large files. So I took a look at the license for Inkscape and GIMP and discovered that I'm allowed to distribute the software. So I put together a nice little package that includes the latest PC and Mac versions of Inkscape and GIMP and put them on CD. These are the exact same files you can download for free from their official site (Inkscape, GIMP). I just made it easier for those who have difficulty downloading these files. The CD is only $5 which includes shipping! You can order this software package here. Again, this offer is only available to US residents. Outside the US, contact me for more information. Quote
Dan Posted October 17, 2009 Report Posted October 17, 2009 Folks, I can tell you that this tutorial is outstanding. After I downloaded Inkscape and used their help files and played around for a while, I gave up on it. Then, when I found the tutorial by Travis, I felt I could actually use the program. I by no means consider myself a pattern maker, but if I decide to spend some time I think I could do just that. If you plan to give Inkscape a try, please go through all of Travis' Inkscape tutorials first. You won't regret it. Quote
Travis Posted March 1, 2010 Author Report Posted March 1, 2010 I’m running a one-time special on the DVD version of our online classes. Yes, you can still take the classes for free in the Village University. But some folks prefer learning in the comfort of their living room. The DVD pack was originally $25 for both the GIMP lessons and the Inkscape lessons. I’ve reduced the price to $20 for a limited time with FREE shipping. That’s only $10 per class! Don’t pass this up. Get yours now. This special is only available during the month of March, 2010. You can find more information here. Enjoy! Quote
