I love listening to audiobooks while working in the shop. I just discovered last night that my local library has free downloadable audiobooks. All you need is a library card and some special software so you can "check them out." I load them up on my iPod and saw away for a few hours. Awesome way to get some "reading" and sawing done at the same time. Check out your local library. I'm guessing they have the same service!

Yeah, Travis, I do the same thing. They even have some movies, videos, and show I can download. If you're into old time radio, here's a sight that you can download some programs from http://www.archive.org/details/oldtimeradio. I love listening to Fibber McGee, Abe Burrows, George Burns, and many more. I think that sight also has audio books you can download. Some are read in a computer voice though.

Darn it, Travis, I don't have an IPod! I love audio books. I mostly listened to them in the car while I was still working. They are pretty expensive to buy so getting them through the library is a great idea. I didn't know you could download them. Now I have another thing to put on my wish list!

I don't have an IPod either but you can download the free Itunes software and download songs, movies, tv programs and even podcasts and some free online class lectures too. I have it and am taking several free courses offered by different colleges........academic classes. I can't afford to go back to college but these are actual courses from the colleges and Universities from around the world..........and free. Of course you don't get credit for them but hey, learning is learning. Anyone serious about it can always CLEP the classes. For me I just like to keep up with my nursing skills and knowledge base.

For anyone interested, here's the link to download Itunes:
