Made a unique item this weekend......got a pic sent to me asking if I could make it (1st pic)..........my version is pic 2 & 3..........it's called a spartan knife holder......made from 1/2" sanded ply with a sliver of walnut......comments always welcomed. Thanks

That is superbly stylish, nice work!! I've never been in to 'knife blocks' for my kitchen, but gee you've opened my eyes up now! :)

I also didn't realise ply could look that good, what finish did you use?

Dan, you did a very nice job of designing and cutting your version out, and they look fantastic. I have to admit though, that as much as I like yours, I like the original one just a bit better. In the original, the Spartan fighter looks to be defending himself with whatever. Is there any way, that your fellow could hold a piece of the knife set to look the same?

Great work there Dan, my son is a trainee chef and would love one of those. Will you be making a pattern for it ?

I do have a pattern for it Kieth if you would like, however i had the knives so I could precisely cut the slots.......

I just sprayed with gloss Deft poly......3 coats
