Rob Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 Apologies in advance if this would be better placed in the pattern making forum but I could use some help with Gimp. I have an image which prints at a perfect size to cut. All I want to do now is to duplicate that image so I can print four or six copies per page rather than one. It sounds simple but is driving me nuts. I think that "layers" may be the solution to my problem but I am struggling to get it to work. I create a new image from an A4 template but when I paste the image into a new layer, it becomes much smaller than the original image. Could anyone offer me any help? Let me know if you need any further information and thanks in advance, Rob Quote

JustLarry Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 Rob, To get copies of image on one sheet I copy and paste. Open new page and set page to size. Open page with image. Set cursor on image page and hit Control / C for copy. Move Cursor to new page and hit Control / V for Paste. Image should appear on new page with a wavy frame around it. Using cursor move the pasted image to area you want it. With cursor still on new page, hit Control / V again. This should paste another copy of image on new page. (This new copy may be on top of the first one that was pasted.) With cursor, position the new pasted image where you want it. Continue to do this until you have all of the images the new page will hold. After last image is pasted, select Layer from the Tab menu and then select Anchor Layer. Should be ready to print the new page with several images on it. Larry Quote
Rob Posted September 1, 2015 Author Report Posted September 1, 2015 Thanks Larry, that is a great help. I now have multiple copies of the image on a new page but the copied images are smaller than the original for some reason. Any ideas? Quote
JustLarry Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 Rob - I have that problem printing with gimp also. I cannot get it to print a full size page. After several searches and several postings on different forums, I gave up on getting Gimp to print the full size pages. I import my patterns to Inkscape and print them from there. Been doing this for several years now. Quote
Rob Posted September 2, 2015 Author Report Posted September 2, 2015 Thanks for the quick response Larry. I'll give that a try. Rob Quote
