I was sanding plugs (there are 3 in the one pic and 1 in the pic w/o a flash) I made to cover screws and got carried away - blowing through the veneer. I'm looking for ways to repair. Any help would be appreciated. The size is 1.25 x .5. Thanks for reading.

Berry it really depends on what your going to use it for, you could turn it into a positive by cutting a darker piece underneath into an animal or bird an inlay and glue it in they will think you did it on purpose. Roly

This is part of an entertainment unit, a commission no less. I was just finishing this up yesterday when I got carried away. I was working vertically - I should have laid the cabinet on it's side.  I was using 220 grit so it was a fairly fine sanding disk....

Oops don't know how without replacing it and using the damaged part for something else.

You can try on a piece of scrap to use permanent marker and make it look like a natural knot!

I have used that trick on plain wood with goofs; not on veneer though!
