bobscroll Posted January 10, 2016 Report Posted January 10, 2016 Thank you for the dramatic photo Russell, I feel for them out there, Not a lot you can do if it's coming your way! I hope they get it under control soon, Bob Quote
Phantom Scroller Posted January 10, 2016 Report Posted January 10, 2016 I think that's some fire I would be heading in the opposite direction unless I had no trees around me and a digger to clear the brush away. Hope everyone is safe God willing. Roly Quote
GrampaJim Posted January 10, 2016 Report Posted January 10, 2016 And I was complaining about the cold here in Wisconsin! I would rather face zero degree temps than that out my window. Quote

wombatie Posted January 11, 2016 Report Posted January 11, 2016 There were hundreds of homes lost, 2 elderly gentlemen lost their lives and its still going. Water bombers are being used some with water and some with water and fire retardant. They say that this fire with burn for a long time to come. The big fire here in Victoria on Christmas Day is still burning but people are being allowed back into their homes. On Saturday a small bush fire was burning only about the size of 3 streets away from our eldest daughters partners place, it was really scary for him but he praised the firefighters from 14 Units that got it under control has quickly as they did. Where I live we have had no rain since Boxing day everything is soooooooooooo dry a fire could start at any time. We have some bush land behind the houses across the road, so it always pays to be prepared. Marg Quote
