Cholla Cactus wood used to make a lamp

My friend, Alex Sergent, found this wood from a Cholla cactus in New Mexico and I helped him make a lamp with it in my workshop.

Very unusual wood makes a nice lamp. The wood has that reptilian look.

I love it. We had unlimited Cholla here in southern AZ and that gives me some ideas.

Nice lamp Jim, Cholla cactus can be used to make some very nice pen blanks also.

That takes me back as we had a similar lamp back in the 40's.

that is pretty cool. I have used cholla cactus for casting and making pens. but here in Ohio you don't see to much of it

It's neat the things we can do with Mother Nature's scrap. That lamp is cool. I also made a pen from cholla and use it as my truck pen.
