Trying to get back to normal

A week before Christmas the water line to our dishwasher broke. Of course it waited until we went to bed that night. Woke up to about 3/4 of an inch of water. Had to deal with our homeowners insurance. That was fun. Called contractors and each one asked how much more the insurance company would pay. The last one tried to sell us a patio room. Nothing about the water damage. Wife and I decided to do this ourselves. Finished the tiling and base board. What a mess this was.

Wow was not a very nice Christmas present for you. I am sorry that you had to go through that, some companies only hear insurance job and they think unlimited money in their pockets. Hope evrything is looking up for you now.

I know just what your going thru  jblock. my Wife and I went thru the same thin a few years back,I replaced it myself saved a ton of money.Most contractors hear insurance and will charge you a fortune.I hope all is going well.

We live on the first floor of a 3 story condo. The laundry room is in the master bathroom. About a month ago, we were 10 minutes away from leaving for Church on a Sunday morning when our bathroom/laundry room turned into a rain forest.

 

The people above us turned on their washing machine and ignored it. I went up to see what was happening. Their was machine did not turn OFF the valve when it was done filling. They had an inch of water.

 

If any of you don't know this, water goes down.

 

Still dealing with both insurance companies. They only have one speed.

I feel for you j. I deal with this on a daily basis as a leak detector. I'm the guy the plumbers call out to find concealed plumbing leaks.

I hate dealing with insurance adjusters, they think of themselves as God's.
