Scrappile Posted February 10, 2016 Report Posted February 10, 2016 I needed to order some blades and I normally go to the "Mike's Workshop" site to order Flying Dutchman blades. This time I decided to see if there is a difference in price if I ordered through the "Wooden Teddy Bear" site. At the WTB site you can mix types of blades to get the "gross" pricing. I saved $6.75 on my order at WTB even though their shipping fee is a little more. It is worth giving it a comparison before you order. New Guy and wombatie 2 Quote
Dan Posted February 10, 2016 Report Posted February 10, 2016 I have heard that if you order different blades at the regular price and you order a gross or more The wooden Teddy Bear will adjust the price to get you the cheaper price by the gross. Great folks over there. Quote
Scrappile Posted February 10, 2016 Author Report Posted February 10, 2016 (edited) There site was a little (actually a lot) confusing to me at first. It lists a type blade first at the "per dozen" price. Then you will notice under it is the same blade at the "per gross" price. Actually it is ordering by the number dozen only at the gross price. So if you know your total number of dozens of the blades you want 'order the number dozen at the gross price. I want 6 dozen each of two different types of blades so I went to the gross price and ordered 6 dozen of each type. At first I thought I was going to get 6 gross each. Now that I have you really confused... I realize it was simple to begin with I am just old and dumb! Edited February 10, 2016 by Scrappile Quote
jerry1939 Posted February 10, 2016 Report Posted February 10, 2016 Scrappile, My shriveled old brain is already messed up beyond hope and now you start messing with it. I only use FD-UR This site shows $33.60 per gross. http://www.mikesworkshop.com/blades.htm This site shows $3.50 per dozen ($42 per gross) http://www.woodenteddybearonline.com/x/product.php?productid=3391&cat=550&page=3 I certainly don't doubt your word Friend, but what am I missing? the village idiot Quote
Scrappile Posted February 10, 2016 Author Report Posted February 10, 2016 You are doing just what I did at first. Go back to the third page of their list of blades were you found the "Ultra Reversr" blades, here: http://www.woodenteddybearonline.com/x/home.php?cat=550&sort=orderby&sort_direction=0&page=3 Now look at the entry below it and it will show you "gross price" ordering ($2.80) Click on that entry and you can select the size and number of dozens you want. A little confusing.... Quote
bandaideman Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 Thanks I thought I was the only one confused but I think I figured it out before ordering. Quote

jerry1939 Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 Scrappile, Good point Sir. Maybe we could form our own society. If someone doesn't know if they are coming or going, they could phone a friend. jerry Quote
