jerry1939 Posted March 2, 2016 Report Posted March 2, 2016 Great find Russell. Thanks for posting it. I do wish you would be a little more specific as to an exact time when you want me to have it done. "By the weekend" leaves me unsure of the deadline Sir. jerry Birchbark 1 Quote

Chiloquinruss Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 (edited) Marble machines are a ball to build but there is a problem, make sure they have destination to go to BEFORE you start the build, so you can get some work done after the build! They are really a kick. Russ https://woodgears.ca/marbles/ Almost as much fun with the same caveat, get them out of the shop when done! http://linkerlogs.com/ Edited March 3, 2016 by Chiloquinruss Birchbark 1 Quote
LarryEA Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 Absolutely amazing!!! Just to build it takes a genius and then for it to play such beautiful music. Quote
Lucky2 Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 Impressive, but, you got to be a mechanical genius to build it, and you've got to be a musical genius to operate it. Len Quote

Chiloquinruss Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 (edited) If you follow along the youtube trail back to that groups website it gets even more amazing. That machine is truly handbuilt, NO CNC! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luXd-DNgd48 a sample of the work https://www.youtube.com/user/wintergatan2000/videos a series of videos showing the MANUAL cutting of the parts and the amazing wood working skills to build the machine. That is then followed by their amazing musical talents as well. I am totally amazed at these young folks, Just amazing. Thanks for turning me on to this most interesting talent. Birchbark Posted March 5, 2016 Author Report Posted March 5, 2016 Wow is right!! I'm so impressed, i had no idea, that guy is a genius!! Man the work and dedication that it took to make that, all the music knowledge, the design/engineering, combined with the woodworking skills. Truly is incredible! Thank you for sharing the back story on that Russ. I was impressed before, now i am just blown away. Russell Quote
