I started watching the GIMP tutorials and decided to download the program.

At first I could not get it to show up on the desktop, once I got that resolved I am unable to open it.

It keeps asking me if I want to install. I have literally told it yes at least 10 times.

I installed and uninstalled it 3 times so far and still nothing.

I would really like to do some portrait scrolling and this program seems like the best free option.

Thank you

Only 3 quesses;

1. Are you "Agreeing to the Terms" when you download. (ONLY download directly from Gimp)

2. Go to your START menu, see if it shows up there. If so, trying clicking it.

3. Possibly your anti-virus software is stopping it.

Hope you get it resolved Friend,

It sounds like you're clicking the install application and not the GIMP application.  That's why it keeps asking asking you to install.  Instead, look in your start menu and see if you can find GIMP and see if that works.

I had to go to program files and add a shortcut from the main file Now it works every time so if nothing else works try that

Well I feel like the village idiot. I did not hit the "customize" and go through all the steps.

I did do that this time and the program not only loaded up it gave me the desktop icon and opened when I asked it to.

It was a combination of all your answers that led me to success.

Thank you all.
