cutting individual letters

Hi guys hope someone can help. I purchased a pattern online which came with a page with numbers and letters to personalise the plan.  How do i cut out each letter i need to add to the plan the page with the letters has all the letters as one image.  I'm trying to use inkscape and gimp but are totally lost.  I'm new to image editing which doesnt help

may i also ask in inkscape or gimp how do you make a plan larger than a4 to spread over several pages

I suppose it depends on the pattern, but usually they're designed where you just print them out, cut out the letters by hand, then glue them to the main pattern.

Am i allowed to post the plans on here so you guys have a better idea of what im asking?? Didnt want to just upload incase i am breaking the rules

I wouldn't post a purchased plan.  Can you post a link to the page you bought it from?

http://www.scrollsawartist.com/intertwined-hearts-and-roses-en.html#description   This doesnt show the lettering.  If i new what font was used i would just download that it would be so much easier.  i tried using the colour select but it highlights every letter

Is it the Wedding Heart?  To me, that looks like Ariel.  You can give that a try.
