woodknots Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 Was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on a bandsaw. Like what might be a good price to offer. It looks to be in ok condition. Thanks Jeff amazingkevin 1 Quote
Scrappile Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 I had one for several years, not a bad band saw. Listen to it run, should be pretty smooth no noises, check the rubber on the wheels, should be flat, smooth, no cracks. I sold mine about for yeas ago for $150. I'd offer $100 today. Just my opinion. Be_O_Be Posted July 30, 2016 Report Posted July 30, 2016 My concerns are at the point were the guide blocks meet the blade. From the photo it appears that the guide is pulling the blade back and out of line with the front of the wheels. The blade should be in line with the wheels, possibly bent? This would put undue stress on the side of the blade. Is this blade size still available? woodknots 1 Quote
Scrappile Posted July 30, 2016 Report Posted July 30, 2016 I'm not sure about the guide. Could be just the picture, but certainly some thing to be checked out. They are very adjustable, but if the post or something is bent on it, be good to know and how much a replacement would be if available. It is a 14" saw, takes a 93 1/2" blade, very common and available. Quote
woodknots Posted July 31, 2016 Author Report Posted July 31, 2016 The blade is not on the wheels all the way it has no tension. I wheel run it for awhile as well as cutting with it, Thanks for the advise I really appreciate it. Jeff Quote
