I agree with Steve, wow!  Love the way the big balloon looks like it is coming out of the frame right at you.  Another masterful piece of intarsia!  Thanks for the pic.

The large balloon, does come right off the frame  The center is 1/2 inch higher than the outer edge, then drops down 1/4, and then the outer edge drops down to the surface of the piece.  so in essence, the center of the balloon, is about 1/2 to 5/8 of an inch above the surface of the frame.  This was a tricky one.  The balloon had to be right, so I built that before doing anything else. I then cut the frame and attached it to the backing, and built the rest of the piece inside the frame so I could insure a good tight fit.
