A club I belong to is having a holiday decoration craft sale.  We have made wreaths and a few other things and sold them for years.  This year we are trying to branch out into a more do-it-yourself type sale.  We have always sold greens for those who make their own decorations.  We are trying to expand that for this year to include other rustic and unfinished items.  I  will be making a few holiday items on the scroll saw and I have already made several items on my lathe.   I have turned snow men figures  and some bells to be painted and finished by the customers, I have patterns to cut out some outdoor Christmas items that folks can decorate/paint as they wish.  Everything  I and others  make is donated and the proceeds go to the club for community service projects.  Another person is making porch and lawn figures from chunks of wood.    Last year he brought six figures and they sold out within an hour after we opened. I cut inch thick discs about 8 inches in diameter from a maple tree and we sold close to 40 of those.  We will be in the club's picnic pavilion that is closed on one side, so it will be semi outdoors.  (We do make a mess with evergreen needles, wood shavings etc.)  A well used rural highway passes right in front of the pavilion.  We will have coffee, tea and pit beef sandwiches available for purchase also.  I cut  some very thin maple discs about three inches in diameter.  We will let children use rubber stamps to decorate the small discs to make decorations for free.

Any suggestions for how to lay this out, conduct sales, etc, would be appreciated.

that's a good idea, & good for the community to see what local crafters can achieve. Awesome idea! Our small community has so many "cliques", if your not an uppity uppity type person, most of them don't want a thing to do with each other, only to benefit themselves. good luck!!

Sad but true. Some hold their noses so high they will drown if it rains. Nice thing about SV, it is exceptionally considerate and friendly to new comers like myself.

Sounds like you all have it figured out pretty well (and sounds fun!). As for layout I'd say make sure there's a good/designated area for any crafting (the kids for example) that's happening on site. And maybe have a couple of the blanks painted up, people like to see the finished possibilities even for DIY projects.

I love the idea!

Have examples of what your pieces could become. Either actual crafted things or pictures from pinterest.

You might get comments about buying the same thing cheaper (some laser cut crap from china) be prepared with a line about hand cut pieces with locally sourced materials.
