Hat display

This hat display is made of the very rear and hard to find Cuban Mahogany. This display will hold the hat of the cigar industry’s icon Carlos Fuente who passed away this year. The turning part was done on a lath, the base was done on the Legacy mill. The plaque on the bottom of the base is brushed aluminum with a brass finish, I made a stencil and sandblasted the lettering on the plate then sprayed the plate with A 14 to make it turn black and a top coat of lacquer to seal it all together. We used Odie’s oil for the finish.

Totally AWESOME hat display Garcia. Very beautiful and well done. I'll have to try acquire some Cuban Mahogany. Love the colour and grain. Oh, like your shop and that 'tiny' router ... Lol. Your shop is only twenty times the size of mine. Again, fabulous work.
