heppnerguy Posted January 11, 2017 Report Posted January 11, 2017 I read all of the helpful remarks about my new pattern efforts and went back today and attempted to fix all the problem. Anyone wish to check them again and see how I did with that and let me know if I still have more to do. I tried to fix my floaters and strengthen up my weak places so as to make the patterns more cuttable. I worked on my Alamo...Looking back.....and one other pattern. I believe they are all much better. Always looking for improvements though. I wish to thank everyone not only for their supportive remarks but also for pointing out my failures. that is how I hope to learn from all this Dick heppnerguy lawson56 1 Quote
Lucky2 Posted January 12, 2017 Report Posted January 12, 2017 Dick, I haven't checked them out as yet, but I soon will. I'm sure you fixed what was pointed out as an error, so everything should be good to go. One nice thing about doing a critique of your work Dick, is that you don't get upset with the constructive criticism. I feel comfortable letting you know there's an issue, you accept what people have to say and then try to look after the issue. Thanks for that. Len heppnerguy 1 Quote

heppnerguy Posted January 12, 2017 Author Report Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) My philosophy is, if one barried their head in the sand and ignores constructive criticism from others, how are they going to improve or ever 'get it right'? I am now working on another pattern and hoping that with just one of these efforts I can learn to take a few extra moments and find all my errors by my self.. The day is coming guys and that WILL happen, it is just a matter of time... but who knows how long that may be Dick heppnerguy Edited January 13, 2017 by heppnerguy Quote

meflick Posted January 13, 2017 Report Posted January 13, 2017 Dick, you are doing good. I appreciate constructive criticism as well and by you posting your work you are trying, and others giving you help in finding an issue, I am learning something along with all of you. I look at your patterns, see what I can see, then look at the points provided to you and then look back to see if I can "see" what they are talking about. We all learn that way. Quote

Being open and paying attention to what others say, does indeed help everyone else. I find this forum to be full of helpful people who are not afraid to share their opinion while at the same time, not being hurtful toward others but rather encouraging them on. I am glad that even though it is my mistakes on my pattern efforts that you take your time to critique and learn from my mistakes as well... thank you for your interest in other's comments.. Scrolling is an ever learning experience. Though some people are way more skilled then others, they also continue to learn from comments and questions that come up here.
