Wood burning question on plywood.

Hello everyone, I'm trying to burn this track and I'm using the shading tip up on high. I was hoping for a more even shading. Am I using the wrong tip of the wrong tool? Someone had suggested a torch of some sort.

Well it's getting to look like asphalt the more you do it the way your doing ,I like the effect!

I think you need to turn down the heat and try a sample first until your happy. Roly
