Just wanted to say hello and say "I'm Back" from vacation in case anyone wondered where I'd been lately. I did "drop in" a few times to see what was going on but didn't really post.

We have been gone 10 days on vacation with our children.  Got back in late last night. We flew into San Francisco and spent a few days, then traveled our way down the PC Highway doing the "tourist stops" along the way.  Missed Big Sur due to the bridge/road collapse that made it not accessible shortly before our trip but hit most of the "high points" I think. Figured this might be the last "family" trip with both the kids for a while since our daughter is getting ready to start her senior year in college and our son his Jr. year.  DD is looking at grads schools starting next year. Son is hoping to do an internship somewhere next summer.  As a result, we took a little longer vacation.  They had never been to Calif. and wanted to go out there to see the sites.  Didn't make it down to San Diego - stopped in southern Orange County at Laguna Beach where my husband has a sister and her family.  They also did Disneyland and Universal out there.  Had been to World and Universal in Fla but still wanted to do them in Calif. They both return to college in the next two weeks so my time will once again become a little more my own - that's the good and the bad news. ;) Since DD plays college VB, my fall from Sept. - late Oct./early Nov. will be some what filled up with going to watch all I can since this is her last year to play. That is also bittersweet! :) Anyway - just wanted to say hello and explain where I had been if anybody had missed me!  Good to be home and catching up.

Yes sounds like a great trip.  i like to visit Calif, but would not live there.  Seriously like four seasons.  I have no desire to live where it is summer year around.  Guess I was born to live where I live.

Glad you had a good and safe trip.

Terry and I were in San Francisco and LA last year we had a great time.  We had the grandkids with us which made it even more special.  Glad you had a great time.

Thanks everybody.  Paul, Scrappile, - like you - nice place to visit - but couldn't live there.  I too like my four seasons AND I couldn't do that traffic - especially that traffic in the LA area.  Guess that's why there are so many places for us to live.  Love our mountains and the seasons - while we may have "rush hour" - its only that an hour at best usually and even then - the traffic is at least moving at a moderate pace!
