Used my vinyl cutter and did some lettering for one of our restoration projects here at the museum.  Putting up vinyl with a breeze is certainly entertaining!  :D  Russ

The most fun on this project so far has been doing the research.  The DRGW paint color listed 'was' called Duco Gold.  DuPont bought Duco and changed 'their' formula to Aspen Gold.  DuPont no longer produces this paint.  Sherman Williams had to 'computer scan' a color chip we got off the refurbished caboose.  Total time to get to the paint mix was 3 months!  We figured that it would take 4 gallons and they would only mix it in 5 gal lots, so we ordered 10 gals (just in case we figured wrong).  Only issue in the application is the caboose is riveted not welded so . . . . . . .

The software I use for the cutter happens to be the same that I use for my woodworking CNC stuff.  I did the layout full size as it would appear on the caboose and then cut each piece as it would fit my cutter.  Worked out fine.

My next two projects actually have wood as the main components so I will be back to having 'wood work' things to do.  Hurray!

Thanks for the comments, I do appreciate them.  You folks are so talented.  And as I stated my wood skills are tied to my computer!  :D  Russ
