Scrappile Posted October 24, 2017 Report Posted October 24, 2017 (edited) I keep reading about people searching for deals on scroll saws in mid America and back east. In the NW there are few scrollers compared to other parts of the US, but there are some great deal on scroll saws. Here are three I just found, I always look even though I do not need another saw. There are lots of DeWalts but most, I feel are over priced,, but I saw this one today... NEW condition. https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/tls/d/dewalt-dw788-variable-speed/6349278574.html Then there is this Hawk, a G-4 and as I understand it one of the best models Hawk made. I have been bartering with this guy on the saw, and he finally called my bluff, I had to back down, I just do not need nor have room for another saw. But, we are friends now, I will meet up with him this Spring at a local carver show. He is a carver and he shows at the local show every year, I am not a carver, but I go almost every year. I bet I have already seen him, maybe even talked to him at that show. https://spokane.craigslist.org/tls/d/rbi-hawk-scroll-saw-like-new/6347745032.html And than there is this one. I think the best deal of the three, but then I love Hegners... https://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/tls/d/hegner-multimax-18v-scroll-saw/6350109743.html Always fun looking. hotshot Posted October 24, 2017 Report Posted October 24, 2017 (edited) Very interesting. Dewalt looks new, no stand. Hawk is G4 which means Cast Iron Solid Frame (very nice). I suspect they would come down in price on the Hawk. Most interesting in this list from a price perspective is the Hegner. I say that because the Hegner had the insert ( meaning it's fairly new), is VS, has the quick tensioner, and QuickClamp, so $400 is a steal. It doesn't come with the welded Hegner Stand, but, at that price, still worth it. Any one in that area that has been watching and waiting for the right deal, I would say this is your chance.
