trailfndr Posted November 21, 2017 Report Posted November 21, 2017 (edited) Alot of people building this one... I finally have all the pieces of Bruce Worthington's, The Guardian, all cut out, except for the teeth which are so small, that I will cut them after shaping. 175 pieces, 11 different types of wood. If I am lucky, I hope to have it all shaped over the long Holiday weekend. Time will tell... Edited November 21, 2017 by trailfndr meflick, Claymore, Scrolling Steve and 3 others 6 Quote

meflick Posted November 22, 2017 Report Posted November 22, 2017 Looking great. Hope you have a lot of time over the long holiday weekend to work on it. You are right - it is quite popular right now. Thanks for showing your work in progress. Quote

Pictures in wood Posted November 26, 2017 Report Posted November 26, 2017 nice work! what are you using for blades/ Quote
trailfndr Posted November 28, 2017 Author Report Posted November 28, 2017 I use Flying Dutchman Ultra Reverse blades in sizes 1, 3, and 5, size is dependent on the wood hardness and thickness. Here is the latest update, everything except the head is shaped, and ready for final assembly. I should have it all done this coming weekend. Without a doubt, the most challenging piece I have made over the past 6 years of making Intarsia. Quote
meflick Posted November 28, 2017 Report Posted November 28, 2017 Beautiful work continuing. I can imagine the challenges the piece presents. Maybe one day I will try it but I don't know anyone into dragons so I am safe from having to try for a while. Thanks for showing your progress. Quote
wombatie Posted November 30, 2017 Report Posted November 30, 2017 You do amazing work Lee, I think you could make the common household fly look great. Good luck with the teeth. Marg Quote
Rolf Posted December 1, 2017 Report Posted December 1, 2017 You have done a beautiful job on this piece. Great wood choices. Although several have been made each one is very different. Quote
