MrsN Posted December 11, 2017 Report Posted December 11, 2017 I just upgraded our little pro-tech scroll saw to a Delta 40-694. I was able to convince my administration that the deal on Amazon was just too good to pass up. $289 with free shipping is pretty good. It arrived this morning and I got it assembled during my prep hour. It took just a bit of figuring to get the table into place and the bevel adjuster put in place. I then had to modify the emergency stop from the last saw. It is an insurance thing that requires the quick stops. I put it through a few quick test cuts and it seems to be cutting really well. I am loving the quicker blade change and tensioning. The kids this afternoon will be excited to test it out. meflick, MTCowpoke22, Fab4 and 6 others 9 Quote

Rob Posted December 18, 2017 Report Posted December 18, 2017 It would be quicker to hit the on/off switch on the saw rather than that emergency stop switch! Here in NZ there is a saying "she'll be right". It is a whole lot more laid back approach to safety than I was used to in the UK. I was astonished when my four year old daughter was given a hammer and nails at her kindergarten and left unsupervised but although I sometimes worry about it/her, I prefer it to an overly protective "nanny state". We have fewer lawyers too which can't be a bad thing in my book! Rob P.S. Congrats on the new saw! Quote
