As we get closer to the due date, I’m having to burn the midnight oil getting things ready. This is the cradle my father built for me 36 years ago. However, numerous kids and time in the bunkhouse left it in terrible need of refinishing. I took it apart and sanded everything down to bare wood. Stained,  finished, and reassembled. Should be ready to go for another 35 years.

Beautiful work on refinishing a family heirloom so that it can be used for several more generations. Although I have the cradle I used with my kids, it was not handmade.  So if and when my kiddos every find themselves expecting I hope that maybe my hubby and I can work to make them cradles as beautiful as yours.  If not, I will pass along the store bought one they used! ;)
