jbrowning Posted April 11, 2018 Report Posted April 11, 2018 I was wondering if anyone has made a picture into an intarsia piece? My grand daughter got a Paint Pony for Christmas and I was wondering if it is possible to make it into intarsia for her. I am attaching a picture of the pony. If this is possible, could you tell me what angle is best to make this. Also suggestions on type of would wood be great. Thanks Jim new2woodwrk 1 Quote
Bpardue Posted April 11, 2018 Report Posted April 11, 2018 You can convert the Photo to a pattern - There are several programs that can do that, but I do it old school and trace over the photo with tracing paper. When I do that I edit the photo to lighten & and or darken the photo to get crisper lines to follow. I also just a light box as well. Jim Finn 1 Quote
worbler Posted April 13, 2018 Report Posted April 13, 2018 You could use software as well. Just trace the main components of the image. You could easily go overboard though. Probably would be better to get the whole horse in the image too. Angel wouldn't really matter, as long as you get what you want in the trace. jollyred 1 Quote

Here's my idea, maybe you can do something more with it if you wanted. Just my thought on the project. Russell NC Scroller 1 Quote
