Just finished up a Box Joint 1/4 " poplar box for my sister. She is the other painter in the family and left the top blank for her artwork. I found the wood at Lowes and initially thought the poplar had too much pattern. I then realized that it had an interesting pattern and would be great for a box. I had to get the right sequencing of the I-Box cuts so the pattern would run together. I'm really starting to like this tool. I'm getting hang of it and can knock out the box sides pretty fast. Lined the base inside and tray with a stiffer felt that is still removable. Looking forward to the paint design pattern she chooses for the top.

Very nice looking work. Would love to see the finished project once your sister adds her touch. Tell us more about the tool you are using. Thanks for sharing.

My sister will be here on May 11th from Raleigh to see us and also visit Greenville's Artisphere. https://artisphere.org/ Very large art exhibit  on the main street of down town. Not sure what she will paint but we won't see it until she gets back home. Some of her work.

Here is some info on the Incra I-Box http://www.incrementaltools.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=I-BOX

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oP-FnHfo9o It takes a little practice but once the sequence is down, it works great.

She is a extremely talented artist

I agree she has more talent in her little finger than I have in my whole body!!  Those are beautiful pictures....  I hope we get to see what she does with that nice box you made.

I'd love to have one of those I-Box's but I just do not make enough boxes to justify the expense.  I have a jig I made that does a great job, and is micro adjustable but will not do all that can be done with the I-Box.
