rjR Posted July 26, 2018 Report Posted July 26, 2018 I was asked by a customer to design and make a carousel style rocking horse with a pole etc. I am in the process of making it. Does anyone want it documented. If so just email me; I can reply or if enough interest put a sort of tutorial together. I am taking pictures as I go. The white is the temporary templates that I am going to work from. It will have a turned top on the pole that will go through the body just behind the head. This will get 3 cross braces and the pole will go all the way through the center one too and have a bottom stop built into the cross piece. Scrolling Steve, bobscroll, ChelCass and 1 other 4 Quote
meflick Posted July 26, 2018 Report Posted July 26, 2018 That looks like an interesting project RJ and I am sure that others besides myself would love to see a tutorial or written into./directions on how to do if you care to share, thanks for thinking of us. Quote
rjR Posted July 29, 2018 Author Report Posted July 29, 2018 (edited) Here is what it look like now. Will be assembled, glues and screwed together tomorrow and ready for customer by evening. It is about 35 inches long base is 14 wide and it is about 38 to top of the grab pole. Design is from T & E designs again. I am fairly pleased with it. It now has 44 screws--SO FAR! I am sure it will be 60+ before completely assembled. It has been a fun project to do. Edited July 29, 2018 by rjR typing error bobscroll and meflick 2 Quote

Scrappile Posted July 30, 2018 Report Posted July 30, 2018 Going to be a very steady steed for sure. I still have the rocking horse my dad made me when I was two. We road many trails together and so did my children and their children and many neices and nephews, cousins, etc. Rocking horses are very important to family memories... meflick 1 Quote
