Yesterday I was playing a game of chess at chess.com. About the 23rd move a yellow banner appeared at the top of the screen saying “A website has slowed your browser, what do you want to do.   CANCEL OR WAIT? I kept clicking wait and after a few minutes I realized the browser had frozen. Chess.com com considered the game ‘abandoned’ and I lost 28 points in one where I was actually a pawn ahead.&%^<9!!!!

I have Lenovo laptop that’s practically new. Windows 10 and I was in Mozillia. Any idea what happened or what I can do to prevent another disaster?  TIA.

I dropped the internet from my iPhone.  Every time you add another layer of technology, you just add to life's frustrations.  For example, it takes 2 of us old people to drive our car.  1 to drive & the other to operate all that all that &%#)* technology.  If one person drives alone, you take your eyes off of the road for 5 minutes at a time, just to change the temperature control.

I'm done ranting now, move on to something else to read.

I installed the Firefox addon "UBlock", that's cut down on ads trying to load and kill my browser, regardless of which tab I have open.  They have add-ons for Chrome and IE (which is pretty much only useful for downloading Chrome and/or Firefox) as well.  But as Tgiro said....click Cancel any time one of those pops up.  Worst case, the site crashes and  you have to kill the tab.  You can go into History and restore the recently closed tab.
