command hooks

Trying to put light weight frames on a wall at church. Making holes in wall not acceptable. This is a canvas you would paint on without regular frame so not heavy at all. Used the command hooks for 3 lbs but not holding. Tried more than twice. followed directions to the letter just not holding. It has the babies in nursery foot prints. Any suggestions as to what is wrong or ideas of how to hang without nails.

Our company moved into a new building just before I retired, and the boss didn't want any holes in the wall either.  So we used those to hang diplomas, licenses and other things.  After about a year, everything started to fall off.  Then he let us use nails to hang things.  By then the office wasn't so new, and didn't bother him as much.

I have had better luck with command Velcro strips. Only had one fail after 2 years. I do have to remake that project.

I think the only command they follow is "Drop".
I have used standard adhesive type hooks to hang club banners on and they are still in place after a couple of years. Don't think they would be easy to get of without damaging the paint though.
