Scrappile Posted February 5, 2019 Report Posted February 5, 2019 My daughter gave me and my wife each a pair of these SnowTraxs, so we could get around when there is snow and ice. I got a chance to try mine out today. They worked great. Easy to put on/take off my boots and I trekked around the yard in the snow and then out on the road where it was packed snow and ice, just to see how they worked. I am impressed! I realize they gave them to us to help insure we did not fall, because then they would have to take care of us, but that's okay. They work good,, I could probably dance down the road,,, but the neighbors asked me to please stop doing that! https://www.cochaser.com/blog/snowtrax-by-yaktrax-winter-traction-device-for-footware/ RabidAlien 1 Quote
Foxfold Posted February 5, 2019 Report Posted February 5, 2019 Aww, what a lovely thoughtful gift. She loves you enough to keep you safe. Now you can go out in winter without having to look like a ballerina trying to keep your balance WayneMahler and Scrappile 2 Quote
Gordster Posted February 5, 2019 Report Posted February 5, 2019 I have a pair also Paul..they are great.not just the falling issue, but one leg slipping and getting pulled muscle. Now,if you do a dance, how about making a video, would love to see it lol. WayneMahler 1 Quote
tgiro Posted February 5, 2019 Report Posted February 5, 2019 With my luck I'd forget and walk across our kitchen oak floor and my wife would kill me Jim McDonald and meflick 2 Quote
Scrappile Posted February 5, 2019 Author Report Posted February 5, 2019 I made a video some time ago and posted it. I think it was outlawed. Also had it on Youtube,,,, my kids were not happy... Quote
meflick Posted February 5, 2019 Report Posted February 5, 2019 I think I gave my hubby a pair of those or something similar one year for Christmas for "just in case" should he ever get caught out going to/from work when we had snow or ice to worry about. I don't think he has ever had a need to use them yet. Not like we get a lot of snow most winters around here - but we have so at least I know I did my part should the need arise. I assume they are some where in the back bed storage on his Ridgeline. Problem may be if he remembers and can find them should he actually need them. Rather than assuming it was they just didn't want to take care of you - think positive and think they love you and want you around and healthily for a long while yet. Quote
jerry1939 Posted February 6, 2019 Report Posted February 6, 2019 Heck, I would probably laugh at for anything, just because you are a Nice, Funny Guy. jerry Quote
oldhudson Posted February 6, 2019 Report Posted February 6, 2019 My wife and I have used the Original Yaktrax for about 6-7 years. We always get 3 sets each before winter starts. If it's really icy I've been using Due North cleats. For me they work better on ice and the Yaktrax are better in the snow. With either you can drive fine. BUT they are all dangerous if you're in a store/restaurant with tile floors. Other than the danger in a tiled area the other drawback is putting them on and off with changing weather. I'll have to give the Snowtrax a try. Quote
Scrappile Posted February 6, 2019 Author Report Posted February 6, 2019 (edited) HA! I was outside wearing mine today. I stepped inside on the workroom cement floor and walk across the room, got the sudden memory of when I was a teeny-bopper and wore taps on my shoes. Remember that?!! As soon a you got new shoes you had to have taps put on them so you clicked along as you walked..... the good ones were called horse shoes because they were shaped like a horse shoe and covered the perimeter of the heal of your shoe...Cool man!!
