I bought some Plaid brand "Gallery Glass" paint to play with last year. Let's just say that the folks online made look a whole lot better than I was able to achieve. Luckily, I only bought a very few colors.

I had to give you a WOW icon because liked is not strong enough. Excellent cutting on a really intense pattern. I hope Charles sees this somehow.

Lighting-- @JimNC look around some of the home home improvement stores or websites. I have a gooseneck with a magnetic base i attach to the upper arm of my Pegas. I also had another I got from Lowe's a bit back that was a bit larger-but I just donated it a month or so ago. For magnification-- Even though my lens implants promised close up viewing, it is not close enough for me and I wear inexpensive readers (cheaters) when doing fine work. I even found a pair of tinted +2.5 that will make my outdoor precision work more comfortable.

Just used one for a base coat and liked the flexibility. Navy Blue satin went on smooth.

The mix of woods and your shaping really add quite a bit of detail to this piece.

When you talk about getting the kerf dialed in just right, I feel that if you aim for 1 inch and come out at 15/16"--it still fits nicely in a 1" hole. Some will disagree, but it will give a bit of flexibility with the glue up.

Excellent job on cutting and painting. And, a big shout to @alexfoxfor a great pattern.

He did charge a modest S&H on those, but it was worth it. My schedule is packed for the next 10 days or so, but I am willing to collaborate with folks on a design after that.

Something about old technology. Great cutting. Lots of entry holes.

Those would be a great addition to any yard! (If you ever decide to give them a new home--I might know of a place .)

Didn't pick it up to examine, but saw cans of 77 today in Staples. Looked like new packaging.
