  1. I also work on the patio and most days I have a slight breeze which keeps most of the dust away from me. But, I still use a blower to periodically clean the table and undercarriage. And then a leaf blower sends all the drop outs into the grass!
  2. Warm greetings from Central Indiana. No question is off limits here and no one hides any techniques.
  3. You might even have a T25 in some bit kit you already have.
  4. To quote the great craftsman and philosopher Red Green: "We're all pullin' for ya." Pay attention to the docs and when the time comes-- your therapist.
  5. I have used Delta, Hitchai, Dewalt and now running a 21" Pegas. I have cut with Olson, FD, Pegas, Bosch and even Vermont American blades in sizes from Superior Puzzle to #7. Pretty much 1, 3, and 5 Pegas MGT now and the puzzle for thin or super intricate work. Everyone develops an attachment to a combination of blades, speeds and feeds. The saw makes a difference in vibrations and table size. In my feeble little mind, the person running the saw is the biggest difference.
  6. I have drilled slightly undersized holes and then cut the nails shorter on an angle to make a new point.
  7. While not super complicated,it is NOT too simple for bragging rights. This might have inspired a new cutter to step outside their comfort zone. I know this is not something I would have envisioned.
  8. I miss driving my Pegas, but after a couple of household tasks get out of the way, I will be back making sawdust. (Maybe even a project or two)
  9. Beautiful work on a wonderful piece of stock. Almost looks metallic.
  10. I received my stick and will download it tonight. I know there are some all time favorites on there and some I may have missed--but will now want. Do I want everything-- of course not--but I now have the ability to have them close at hand.
  11. That sawdust is still perfectly aligned! Looking for great projects ahead.
  12. Years ago, as a nod to a cousins vacation to the far north end of the Outer Banks, I made them all a crab ornament. Little did I know almost all of them either had food poisoning or norovirus and look back on that week with dismay/disgust.
  13. I just ordered the stick and will probably see it Tuesday or Wednesday. Steve was using a fulfillment company to handle the sticks and I would assume his personal machines were for the downloads. He was great with computers, so it would not surprise me if he didn't have a small server on premises.
  14. Beautiful wood treated with respect. Quality workmanship.
  15. Beautiful piece and sentiment.
  16. Dick: I have both acrylic and Unicorn Spit, but the Unicorn seems to fit my style a bit better. Ever since high school (last century), I have mixed colors as needed and I can control the amounts better with Unicorn.
  17. I know you said you were going to study about Unicorn Spit, but I can attest to the colors and ease of use. Can be either a paint or thinned to be a stain. The only one I have had a problem with is yellow--but I am not happy with most yellows.
  18. I use Watco lacquer and the price is similar to what you are saying about Deft. I bought some during a 15% bag sale at Menards. Hopefully it gets me through the season.
  19. Denny has great product and provides great customer service. That's a combination that's hard to beat. And, he'll take the time to answer questions.
  20. In a former part time job, I worked in a shop repairing sensors for underground mining equipment. (Lots of vibrations on that stuff) We used solder with 2% or so silver and never had connection issues. Our problem was dirty power resulting in surges and spikes in 440V lines.
  21. I gave it a WOW, simply because there is no button for "Holy Smokes!"
  22. This is a Steve Good pattern and I first made about eight as "special" Christmas presents. Then, I got a request from one of the recipients for two more. Word got out and since then I have probably made 20 or so. The back and lids have always been walnut, but the layers inside have been butternut, maple and even poplar.
  23. That is a solid pattern. I have long said some patterns are just waiting on the right piece of stock. And in this case, it was a match!
  24. Great pattern and cutting. Never been to VA Beach, but been a bit farther south at Outer Banks and this design applies as well down there. Thanks for sharing.
